Best areas to explore in Avenel?
Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 17,143 people. Is this normal for Avenel?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 8 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great craft beer places. it's not perfect but it works for me.
