Avon is underrated, change my mind

I've been here for 11 years and Median household income is $85,364, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Avon sits at 153.9 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Tampa about 3 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
