Unpopular opinion about Avon
Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,509 for rent here. Homes are going for about $300,600 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Avon sits at 378.3 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
Pros:
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Lack of diversity
Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
