So, You can expect to pay around $1,509 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Springfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'm a accountant and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much established but now it's improving.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 1 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
