Best and worst neighborhoods in Avondale

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 8.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $81,260 in Avondale. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in East for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely pretty good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
