Best areas to explore in Avondale?

Longtime lurker here, Homes are going for about $348,700 on average. With a population of 90,644, Avondale is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $81,260 in Avondale. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? TIA! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
