Remote worker thinking about Avondale

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $348,700, which seems about average. Median household income is $81,260, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,731/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 71--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..
