Thinking about relocating to Avondale from Charlotte
Been meaning to ask this. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
