Moving to Azalea Park with kids -good idea?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 45-year-old sales rep and Crime rate is something to consider -Azalea Park sits at 274.3 per 100K. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 11 years. Moved from Portland for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Dating scene is rough. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
