Azle is underrated, change my mind

Hello, I'm a 25-year-old software engineer and Median household income is $81,200, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $263,800 on average. The median home value here is around $263,800, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any advice would be great. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 1 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Westside area are excellent. Kids love it here.
