My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $263,800, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Azle? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I work in real estate here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is average. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor recreation is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Meadowbrook area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a HR manager, 58, moved here 1 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Eastside and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The weather situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. tough vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
