Housing in Baidland compared to Pittsburgh

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 7.3%, which is concerning. It's a a small town city with about 1,744 people. Household incomes average around $108,347 in Baidland. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Poor road conditions
TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (South) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
