I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Bainbridge sits at 675.8 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 14,353 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Any help is appreciated. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Old Town for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
- The dating scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Raleigh about 7 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 44, moved here 10 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in East and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The cost of living situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a HR manager and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is average and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
