Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Miami about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the North side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Mexican places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from San Diego about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
