Remote worker thinking about Bainbridge Island

Hey, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $1,076,200, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $159,882, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Bainbridge Island sits at 39.9 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 12 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
