Is Baker good for remote workers?

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a small town city with about 12,322 people. You can expect to pay around $1,031 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Mexican places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
