Couple moving to Bakersfield from out of state

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Average temperature is around 68°F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,371/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $347,300, which seems about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
