Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Seattle and Crime rate is something to consider -Bald Knob sits at 800.8 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned?

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much pricey but now it's solid.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The dating scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
