Biggest downsides of living in Baldwin Park?

I work in finance and Rent is about $1,817/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $79,087 in Baldwin Park. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Eastside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
