Moving from Baltimore to Baldwin Park next month

I'm a 46-year-old data analyst and Poverty rate is 11.9%, which is around average. Homes are going for about $588,100 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.
