Why I chose Baldwin Park over bigger cities
Alright, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $588,100 on average. Median household income is $79,087, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $588,100, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 11.9%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,817/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Diverse community
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
What do you all think? Thanks! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
