Best coffee shops in Baltimore Highlands?

Hey folks, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 1 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The pet-friendliness is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Riverside area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Greenfield area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Midtown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Sunset for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.
