Hey everyone, You can expect to pay around $1,352 for rent here. Household incomes average around $64,284 in Baltimore Highlands. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Eastside area are excellent. Kids love it here.
