Housing market in Baltimore — is it worth buying?

Median home value here is around $219,300. Prices are reasonable compared to major metros. For those renting, typical rent is $1290.

Is now a good time to buy in Baltimore? Or better to keep renting?

Looking for opinions from both homeowners and renters.

Coming from New York, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. University District and Cedar Hills are perfectly safe.

Respectfully disagree about the safety concerns. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.
