Weekend activities in Banning?

Household incomes average around $57,699 in Banning. Median household income is $57,699, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 30, moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The cultural scene situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Cedar Grove area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
