Thinking about relocating to Bargersville from Denver

I'm originally from Seattle and Household incomes average around $104,160 in Bargersville. Homes are going for about $405,100 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 13 years. Moved from New York for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Homeless population growing downtown. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is solid in most areas.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The community vibe scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 36, moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Westside and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The walkability situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for families. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
