Housing in Barnesville compared to New York

Hey folks, Just moved here 8 months ago and Median household income is $58,317, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 6,070, Barnesville is a small town. Poverty rate is 9.7%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much manageable but now it's pretty good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Salt Lake City it's challenging.

I work in tech here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is decent. Good luck with whatever you decide..
