So, Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $137,300 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from LA about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 10 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

Came here for school and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The healthcare is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
