Alright, You can expect to pay around $905 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Salt Lake City it's excellent.

I've lived in The Heights for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The job market scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
