Moving to Bartlesville with kids -good idea?

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a smaller city city with about 37,559 people. The median home value here is around $154,900, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Miami about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
