Honest thoughts on life in Bartlett

Alright, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $283,700 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much affordable but now it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely decent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Old Town) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Greenfield area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Atlanta it's improving.
