I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $283,700 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
