Is Batavia a good place to live?

First post here. I'm single, late 30s, and Rent is about $1,255/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,730 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Batavia? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
