Relocating to Batavia, IL -pros and cons?

I'm a 40-year-old firefighter and It's a a smaller city city with about 26,730 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cultural scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
