Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 21,293 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Midtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The traffic scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Uptown for 14 years. Moved from Atlanta for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is improving - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Can feel isolated. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
