What surprised you most about Bay City?
First post here. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 32,445 people. Rent is about $739/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 15.2%, which is higher than I expected. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thanks! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
