Best coffee shops in Bay Park?

Been living here since 2007. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
