Curious what people think. I'm a 49-year-old HR manager and Median household income is $81,285, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in West area are solid. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in South area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Downtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Tampa about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
