Raising a family in Bayonne -thoughts?

It's a a smaller city city with about 70,468 people. Rent is about $1,593/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Atlanta about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is decent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
