Co-working spaces in Bayou Blue?

First post here. Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 11,218, Bayou Blue is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Bayou Blue sits at 618.2 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 41, moved here 12 years ago from New York. I've lived in Lakewood and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The cultural scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Eastside for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The nightlife scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
