Worst things about Bayou Blue nobody talks about

Hello, Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Eastside area are decent. Kids love it here.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mexican places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
