As a 5-year resident, here are some things about Baytown that don't make it into the guides:
1. The local music scene is really vibrant
2. Community events happen almost every weekend
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

Coming from Houston, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.
