Life in Beachwood as a young professional
Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $102,043 in Beachwood. Rent is about $2,236/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
- Limited cultural events
- Homelessness issues downtown
There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
