Beachwood is underrated, change my mind

Anyone else feel this way? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Baltimore about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
