Housing in Beachwood compared to Indianapolis

Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Beachwood sits at 60.3 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much competitive but now it's decent.

I've lived in Highland for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much pricey but now it's solid.
