Cost of living reality check -Beacon

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $1,675 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $93,347 in Beacon. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $422,000 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Homelessness issues downtown

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's underrated.
