Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Beaumont sits at 180.4 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've been in The Heights for 11 years. Moved from Denver for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Dating scene is rough. And food scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 7 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
