Been meaning to ask this. Rent is about $1,505/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $105,164 in Beaumont. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $105,164, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
