Working remotely from Beaumont — my experience
I've been working remotely from Beaumont for 6 years now. Here's my take:
The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.
Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Fiber available in most areas — no complaints
Coworking spaces: A few good ones downtown
If you're looking for a place to WFH, Beaumont is worth considering.

If you can afford it, Downtown is the best place to live. Period.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

I've lived in Downtown for 11 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Northside and Riverside are perfectly safe.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Don't sleep on Riverside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Coming from Philadelphia, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

As someone who moved here from Atlanta, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.
