Beaverton job market vs Albuquerque

Hey, Been living here since 2024. Rent is about $1,727/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,727 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 97,502 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
